Santayana once said, “Those who cannot learn from history are doomed
to repeat it.” and it’s in that spirit that I offer Logo
R.I.P. An interesting look at how the changing market place can force
a corporation to rethink its identity. With open commentary to visitors, and
many examples of logos that have been shelved for newer graphics. It helps
give perspective on what we do as designers, the mark it leaves on how a company
is perceived, and the trends we can set.
As in any profession, great designers understand their roots, and there are some wonderful pieces covering the past 100 years of design. Including a few by one of my idols Paul Rand.
